Adventure Three-Memphis

In early June, Mitch and Kathy braved Continental Airlines and came to the home of the Blues for their daughter Karin's graduation from residency event. Yet again, they managed to miss out of Graceland, which by the way, is awesome. And yes, I do know Lisa Marie Presley's pediatrician.

This photo meets Kathy's requirements but I look totally lame! She held the camera the whole trip so this is the only one to feature her.

Kirk being held by M&K's son-in-law Chris at Karin's graduation. Look how little Kirkie is!

Mitch enjoying his new role of Grandpa. Almost as exciting as Skyline Chili- Kathy, Mitch, Karin and Kirk just returned from a delicious meal at Gus's Friend Cicken in Memphis.

Kathy and Mitch are so proud of Karin, she received a roll of toilet paper to honor her acheivements as a resident. Ironically, one of her acheivements was not getting better toilet paper in the Resident Lounge of the children's hospital.

Turns out Mitch is quite the singer songwriter. He composed the classic tune, "Mississippi Mud". Mississippi...

...Mississippi...

Mississippi Mud!

Adventure Two-Columbus, Ohio

In late May, the dynamic duo attended their nephew Daniel's wedding outside of Columbus. Daniel married a fellow Buckeye named Erin. Lucky for the out of town guests there is a Skyline Chili in Columbus.
P.S. Mitch and his siblings LOVE Cincinnati style chili.

Yummy- we love the chili.

The newlyweds Erin and Daniel

Matt and Paula prepping to play tennis.

Thank God for Skyline Chili!

Adventure One- Marquesas and Bora Bora

This May, Mitch and Kathy decided to spend the retirement fund on a trip to the Marquesas and Bora Bora. Just kidding- they spent that on Karin's undergrad education at Notre Dame. (Thanks!). Enjoy these pictures of the French Polynesia.

Kathy enjoying a rainbow. There must be a leprechaun in a wet suit looking for the gold!

Pretty lagoon

Mitch and some guy enjoying the view.

Mitch is dancing. He's feeling the island rhythms.

On deck and very tan.

Enjoying polynesian night.

Check out the huge manta ray. Photo from deck of Aruni 3.

Dudes and chicks dancing with grass skirts.

Italian perv, sorry-alledged pervert, shaking his speedo. I'm sure the ladies could barely contain themselves.

The art of polynesian dancing was learned while one of the Marquesas. First 3 women.

Kathy totally into the island dancing.

More of a rhythmic arm movement than a real dance, but we'll take it. Awesome lei, eh?

Still festive, still dancing. Must be the wine at dinner.

She's still a dancing...

Locals playing traditional island music.

Still dancing.

This lady, Jo, is on the brink of a wardrobe malfunction.

Fog rolling into Ua Pou

Loading freight.

On board the Aruni 3.

It's a hospital- with art.

Check out Wayne copping a feel on this painting. Mitch thinks this is hilarious. This is actually a hospital.

Here's the stern of the Aruni 3. Half of some dude's head in foreground.

Intro to this blog

My parents, aka Mitch and Kathy, are avid travellers. They've been all kinds of places- Africa, China, Costa Rica, Norway, Russia, French Polynesia and more exotic locales like Columbus, Ohio. I've recently come into some photos of a trip or two and will post some pics for Mitch to view at work and torment his coworkers.
